Andrea Nieto-Aliseda

Andrea, born in Barcelona, Spain (1997), completed her undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics at ESCI-UPF (2016–2020). Initially joining the lab for a six-month bachelor's internship, she continued working there as a bioinformatics technician before relocating to the Netherlands to pursue a Master's in Biomedical Sciences at Utrecht University (2021–2023). After completing her master's, she returned to the lab to begin her PhD in Bioinformatics, supported by an FPI fellowship.

Andrea is happiest on the run - whether it’s pounding the pavement, tackling trail climbs, spotting wildlife, or chasing sunsets over mountain peaks.
