Teresa Robert
Postdoctoral Researcher
Teresa graduated with a BSc in Human Biology from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, 2013) and completed an Erasmus+ Internship at King’s College London (UK, 2012). After a stimulating international experience, she moved to The Netherlands to pursue an MSc in Cell and Molecular Biotechnology (Wageningen University, 2015), completing her Master’s thesis at the Hubrecht Institute (Utrecht, 2015). Following her passion for epigenetics, she earned a PhD in Molecular Biology at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam (2023), in Prof. Joost Gribnau’s laboratory, focusing on X chromosome inactivation, a paradigm of epigenetic gene regulation in female embryonic development. During her PhD, she gained vast expertise in molecular biology, genome editing tools, experimental design, science dissemination, and communication. Fascinated by the complexity of the 3D genome, in 2024, she joined the Javierre Team to study the role of distal gene regulatory elements in driving normal and malignant hematopoiesis.
Teresa likes supervising BSc and MSc students in their initial steps in the laboratory. Outside the lab, she loves outdoor activities, plants and cinema.
